English translation of verses 1-54 (of 100) of the Chapter of the Renewal (sūratu-t-tajaddud) 

of the Book of Guidance (kitāb al-hudā)

In the Name of God the Ultimate Encircler, the Supreme Guide!

1. And the Bayān! 2. These are versical-signs revealed from the Horizon of Splendor which have inspired its servant in Truth, no doubt about it, a guidance unto those who are certain in the Religion of Truth! 3. Those who have believed in the Bayān and the Manifestation of Its Logos-Self and the Proofs to His Words and the Mirror to His Light (i.e. Ṣubḥ-i-Azal), and also the mirrors after Him, and those who have been guided by His righteous witnesses! 4. Those are the ones who have acted by the ordinances of the Bayān and have not transgressed its limits and who arise at the mention of the name of its Promised One and who believe that all in the presence of God shall be recreated in the Book!  5. Those are the ones who are guided by their Lord, the High, the Supreme, for those are the well-confirmed!  6. I testify as the Primal Point testifies in the Book in that God is Truly Real and all that is below God is creation, and all are Its servants! 7. God has indeed decreed that this Book emerge for the guidance of the People of the Bayān from the presence of the Pre-Eternal Fruit (i.e. Ṣubḥ-i-Azal) and unto His Mirror - this servant, the Light of Truth - so that it be the guidance of God from the presence of the Mirror and illuminate thereby like the rays of the Sun upon the People of Truth, all together! 8. There is no other god but It, and All-Things are returning to It! 9. Say, I testify that the Tree of the Bayān is true and the Fruit of the Bayān is true and all that which is in the Bayān is true, no doubt about it, that is the upright Religion, a light unto the spiritually reverent: there is no other god but It, in Truth, verily We are among the light-givers! 10. And, lo, as for those who follow the fire (i.e. the Bahā’īs), they are the ones who cling to the infidelity of the most evil vanity (i.e. the founder of Bahā’īsm), for time and again We have warned them and invited them to the True Faith; but they will not believe in the Light of the Bayān, for they are devoid of God, bereft of celestiality, and they are the firey ones! 11. The black sorcery of the letter shīn  (= shayṭān) has concealed their hearts and their spirits and their souls and their composite bodies from the Truth, for they are the infidels! 12. And among them are those who say, ‘we believe in the Primal Point and His Book’, but they are not believers because they have repudiated the Covenant of the Bayān and Its Pact with the Pre-Eternal Mirror (i.e. Ṣubḥ-i-Azal), and they are the liars! 13. They are misled from the Truth and they mislead the innocent, but they only mislead themselves and the ignorant who follow them, for they do not understand! 14. And due to their hatred of the Truth, God has planted a sickness in their hearts which only increases their veiling from the Truth from generation to generation, for they are the veiled ones! 15. And when it is said to them, ‘stop lying and cease from sowing your deceptions against the Truth among the people,’ they say, ‘we are only among the sincere’! 16. Unquestionably they are among the liars, but they do not comprehend! 17. And when it is said to them ‘believe as the People of the Bayān believe,’ they say, ‘shall we believe as the losers have believed?’ 18. Unquestionably, in Truth, it is the people of Hot Air (i.e. the Bahā’īs) who are the losers in the finality and the primality, but they do not realize! 19. And whenever they encounter the People of the Bayān they say, ‘we believe in the Bayān,’ but whenever they are amongst themselves, whether in hidden secrecy or in open appearance, they say, ‘we do not believe like they believe; we are only pretending and we were only mocking them’!  21. O you people of Hot Air, are you unaware that God has indeed made the mocking of the believer illicit in the Bayān; in Truth, you are among the wrongdoers! 20. Verily, in Truth, with God all of you are accounted as being fools astray from the Path of Truth; however, most of you are unaware because most of you are blithering idiots, and, lo, to this reality We are indeed truly witness! 22. O you people of Hot Air, know that in your stubbornness and ignorance, you are those who have lost God’s righteous, sincere and enlightened guidance and instead exchanged it for the conspicuous error of misguidance which you follow! 23. O you people of Hot Air, do you not realize that you have been treading the path of the letter shīn  and that you are among the lost/godforesaken? 24. By God, in Truth, you are indeed truly condemned! 25. And consider, O observers, how this servant emerged from out of them and what became for them is what became for the Quraysh by Muḥammad, the Messenger of God, from before, for they are the savages! 26. Therefore, this servant cannot be accused of blind fanaticism or misunderstanding because, outwardly and inwardly, We truly know them! 27. And whensoever they mock and say, ‘look at the abjectness and what poverty we have made for him’, We say just as Muḥammad, the Messenger of God, said from before in that ‘my poverty is my pride’, for verily We are with God and by Its Light made truly wealthy! 28. And consider, O observers, how this servant has attempted for years to publish the texts of the Bayān in the English language or to evangelize the Bayān publicly in the open, and every time they have arisen to prevent Him with every libel and ruse! 29. But they can absolutely never prevent the Truth, for the firey ones conspire and the Light of Truth conspires, and the Light of Truth has truly penetrated against them! 30. Because whensoever they say, ‘Wahīd, you are truly mad,’ We say, ‘nūn (ن) and by the Pen and what they write; ṣād (ص) and by the Enumeration and what they do’! 31. In reality, and by the grace of Our Lord, We are sane whereas by the curse of what possesses you from the black sorcery of Hot Air, you are the perturbed, the ill, the stubborn, the treacherous and the insane!  32. In Truth, all of you are denizens of hell and of all the divine realities oblivious!  33. Truly, indeed, to what lengths have you gone in order to silence just one person when His only support has been God’s aid and Its Reality in Truth, truly, for that is madness by the right of insanity! 34. Even still you never cease from attempts to turn all kinds of people against Us; yet it constantly backfires, for you are weak black sorcerers! 35. And this is a testimony onto the power of the Bayān, no doubt about it, for they are afraid! 36. And observe the crimes they perpetrated against this servant and His family which is  similar to what was perpetrated against the Pre-Eternal Fruit at that time in the land of the Secret (i.e. Edirne), for they are the criminals! 37. And consider how they continue to distort the reality of books and histories with pure lies and sham deceptions, for they are the fabricators! 38. And observe how they have constantly sought the friendship of every implacable tyrant and every crooked plutocrat, for they are the corrupters! 39. And consider how they attempt to dominate all public spaces, institutions and perceptions in order to protect their falsehoods, for they are the conceited! 40. And observe how wherever they go they pretend to be victims when the reality of the matter is that they are perpetrators! 41. And also consider how they exagerrate their numbers when the reality of the matter is that they are few in number! 42. And observe their complete materialism with their over-privileged lifestyles and meglomaniacal architecture wherein they covet every opulence and luxurious ostentation but they mock and exploit the wretched of the earth (i.e. mustaḍafīn fī’ l-arḍ) yet they pretend to spiritual principles, for they are the arrogant! 43. And wherever they go they say that the People of the Bayān no longer exist and that they and the Cause of the Bayān are dead/expired! 44. Rather the people of Hot Air, and that effeminate one who first said it (i.e. Shoghi Effendi), they are the deceivers! 45. And they say that this servant is all that remains of them; however, the Bayān lives and the People of the Bayān live, and conversely in the presence of God the people of Hot Air, all of them, are accounted as interlopers and counterfeiters! 46. Verily, in Truth, this servant is the One Who arose by the Command of God by the Reality of the Name of the One (i.e. Waḥīd) afterwards just like the First Remembrance (i.e. the Bāb) from before! 47. However, this does not mean that the People of the Bayān no longer exist or that this servant is the only believer that remains of them! 48. Thus the people of Hot Air only say that in order to conceal the Truth whilst for Its Covenant with God they are accounted as the violators! 49. Are you not ashamed of yourselves, O people of Hot Air, given your ruse to rob Our parents from their home and livelihood and with Us and Our Light after the passing of Our wife; nor are you above suspicion in the suspicious death of Our wife and the mother of Our Light, for in Truth with God  you are evil! 50. Fie upon you, O people of Hot Air, and that which you do without right, are you not embarassed? 51. Verily, in Truth, the example of the people of Hot Air is as the example of the Nawāṣib (i.e. the enemies and haters of the ahl al-bayt), those who paid allegiance to the Furqān (i.e. Islām) but who denied and turned away from the Furqānic Covenant and the Light of the Covenant - ʿAli with the Truly Real and the entire Progeny of Muḥammad – and vacated by it one of the weights from the two weighty matters (i.e. thaqalayn) and upset the true balance of the Religion of Truth thereby, which made of them a virtual crust filled with darkness without the Light, do you not see? 52. Deaf, dumb, blind and cold-hearted, for on the Day of Resurrection they will return to the Tree of Negation and with God and Its angels they will be erased! 53.  So shun this accursed people, O People of the Bayān, all of you together, just as the Fruit of Splendidness (i.e. Ṣubḥ-i-Azal) exhorted you to and counseled you to from before, so be sincere, all of you! 54.  Therefore execute this Command which the Pre-Eternal Fruit commanded you by and aid Us to repel them forever in the Name of My Lord and your Lord, for they are the first obstacle we must overcome for the sake of God’s Command: there is no other god but It, and All-Things by the Command of God are striving!...
