*Bezels of Wisdom* (fuṣūṣ al-ḥikam) course set to go

The course on Ibn ꜤArabī's *Bezels of Wisdom* (fuṣūṣ al-ḥikam) is all set to go with the first session happening on Zoom at 12pm AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time), Saturday 20th of April 2024. We are not at full capacity yet - which would be a total of 38 people all up - but there is a good crowd of individuals forming already, and I especially want more women to join us.

In this course we will carefully cover this seminal text of esoteric high Islamic metaphysics. Besides its intellectual component, there will also be an experiential dimension to it because each of the 27 chapters of the *Bezels of Wisdom* (fuṣūṣ al-ḥikam) are related to 27 Divine Names and Attributes from the All-Comprehensive Name "Allah" (الله) to the Name "Single" (فرد fard) such that as we cover each of the chapters we will also collectively be invoking the Names and Attributes assigned to the individual chapters of the *Bezels of Wisdom* (fuṣūṣ al-ḥikam) throughout the course of our study.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الْحَضِرَةُ حَقُّ الْحَقَائِقِ كَمَا هُوَ أَهْلُهُ وَمُسْتَحِقُّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالى عَمَّا يُدْرَكُ الْمُدَرِّكُونَ وَيُعَرِّفُ الْعَارِفُونَ، هُوَ الْحَقُّ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْوَاحِدُ الْأَحَدُ الصَّمَدُ السَّرَمَدُ الْأَوَّلُ الْآخِرُ الظَّاهِرُ الْبَاطِنُ وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجْهَهُ، وَصَلَّ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى نُورِ الْأَوَّلِ وَالْعَقْلِ الْأَوَّلِ الَّذِي كَانَ نَبِيًا وَآدَمَ بَيْنَ الْمَاءِ وَالطِّينِ وَعَلَى مَظَاهِرِ مَشِيئَتِهِ الَّذِينَ هُمْ ظُهُورَات إِرَادَتِهِ وَفِيوضَاتِ قَدَرِهِ وَبُرُوزَاتِ إِمْضَائِهِ وَلَمَعَاتِ إِذْنِهِ وَسَطَعَاتِ أَجَلِّهِ وَالنَّاطِقُونَ بِكِتَابِهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَفْضَلُ الصَّلَاةِ وَالسَّلَامِ وَالنُّورِ، اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي هَذَا الْجُهُدِ مِنَ الْبَدَايَةِ إِلَى النِّهَايَةِ وَأَحْضِرْ لَنَا حُضُورَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ الَّذِينَ يُمْنِحُونَ الْفَهْمَ عَلَيْنَا، وَأَدْعُو الرُّوحَانِيَّةَ لِشَّيْخِ الْأَكْبَرِ وَكَبْرِيتِ الْأَحْمَرِ أَنْ يَسَاعِدَنَا وَيَرْشِدَنَا بِفَهْمِ كِتَابِهِ الْفُصُوص الْحِكَمِ مِنَ الْبَدَايَةِ إِلَى النِّهَايَةِ آمِينَ

 

 

In the Name of God the Compassionate, the Merciful!

Praise be unto God the Presence of the Reality of realities as is rightfully due and worthy of It, Glorified be It and High beyond the grasp of what the contemplators contemplate of It and what the gnostics noeticize of It! It is the Truly Real, there is no other god but It: the One, the Single, the Everlasting, the Eternal, the First, the Last, the Manifest, the Hidden, for all things perish but Its Face! And blessings and salutations be upon the First Light and the First Intellect Who was a prophet while Adam was between water and clay; and upon the loci of the appearance of His Will Who are the Manifestations of His Volition and the Emanations of His Determination and the Preeminences of His Authorization and the Irradiations of His Permission and the Scintillances of His Appointed Time and the Speakers of His Book, upon Them be the best of blessings, salutations and Light! O God, bless us in this effort from beginning to end and bring us the presence of angels who shall bestow understanding upon us! And I invoke the spiritual theurgy [the rūḥānīya] of the Great Sheikh and Red Sulfur to aid us and guide us in understanding his book, the Bezels of Wisdom, from beginning to end! Amen!
