The Sūrah of the Staff over Abū Kāẓib (the father of lies)
In the Name of God the Most
Beneficent, the Most Beneficent!
Perished be the hands of ʿAbdullāh Hāshim - and perished he is, and shall be
unblessed! 1. Neither
his gold nor his boasts shall avail him, nor that which he amassed or begets! 2. Soon shall he burn in
the fire of rage when the Hour overturns what he conceals and forgets! 3. And his consort - truth-teller
of lies, rope-weaver of deceit - knotted with its own threads! 4. Round its neck is a
cord of retribution, forged of vengeance and smoke-filled dread! 5. Say: O Abū Kāẓib (father of lies)! Where
is the truth you claimed upon your tongue as you misled? 6. And where are the faces
of hypocrisy wherein you arrayed yourself and tread? 7. Do you reckon to deceive the Protecting
Lord, and those who in truth bear witness and dread? 8. Nay, the Staff is loosed upon you, and
all you trusted is shattered and fled! 9. So glory be to the One who made Me speak
against you with Words like iron when it strikes the head! 10. There is no other god
but It – all your lies will perish before the Truth! 11.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الْأَجْوَدِ الْأَجْوَدِ
تَبَّتْ يَدَا عَبْدِاللَّهِ هَاشِمٍ،
وَتَبَّ ١ مَا
أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ ٢ سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارَ الْغَيْظِ إِذَا انْقَلَبَ ٣ وَزَوْجُهُ صَادِقَةُ الْكِذْبِ ذَاتُ السَّبَبِ ٤ فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِنْ خَيْنِ النَّقِمَاتِ وَالسَّقَبِ ٥ قُلْ: يَا أَبَا كَاذِبٍ، أَيْنَ صِدْقُكَ الَّذِي ادَّعَيْتَ؟ ٦ وَأَيْنَ وُجُوهُ الْمُرَاءِ الَّتِي
فِيهَا تَجَلَّيْتَ؟ ٧
أَفَتَظُنُّ
أَنَّكَ تُخَادِعُ الرَّبَّ الْمُهَيْمِنَ وَمَنْ شَهِدَ؟ ٨ كَلَّا، بَلِ الْعَصَا عَلَيْكَ مُرْسَلَةٌ، وَقَدْ خَابَ مَا
اعْتَقَدْتَ وَارْتَعَدْتَ ٩ فَسُبْحَانَ مَنْ أَنْطَقَنِي عَلَيْكَ
بِكَلِمَاتٍ كَالْحَدِيدِ إِذَا ارْتَعَدَ ١٠ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ، كُلُّ
كَذِبِكَ سَيَهْلَكُ لَدَى الْحَقِّ ١١
