The Orange Clown President: A Poem
Listen now, the tale I tell, insane—
Of the orange-haired, unbridled bane.
Dreams himself a Christ, a Solomon bright,
Yet wakes as Pharaoh, void of light.
He deems himself the world’s redeemer,
Yet learns his craft from Hell’s blasphemer.
False crown placed on a fool’s dull head,
He decks deceit in gold instead.
He cries, “I am America’s king!”—
A temple’s idol, worshipping.
His eyes on walls and coins that gleam,
No justice moves him, nor wise dream.
Ask him of Torah or Qur’an’s might—
He bellows, “I’m wise! You fools, I’m right!”
Each lie he speaks shames mountain’s face,
Truth he banishes from its place.
He stripped the folk of sense and shame,
To fatten self on gold and fame.
He shouted “America first!” aloud,
But hugged his gain beneath the shroud.
Who had bread, he snatched away;
Who had breath, he made to pray.
Freedom’s name he gave to wrong,
A sorcerer’s spell, fierce and strong.
Yet know, O seers, this charm shall die,
Blood will cleanse the tainted sky.
Truth’s light will pierce his orange night,
And poison end its own dark blight.
So stays his lesson, age to age:
A king without light turns to rage.
بشنو از من قصه‌ی دیوانه‌ای
شاه نارنجی‌موی، بی‌فرمانه‌ای
در خیال خویش، عیسی و سلیمان است
لیک در بیداری، فرعون زمان است
خویش را چون منجی عالم شمرد
لیک از شیطان همی تعلیم برد
تاج کاذب بر سَر نادان نهاد
تا دروغی را چو دُرّ تابان نهاد
بانگ زد: "من شاهِ آمریکا شدم!"
لیک در باطن، بُتِ بتخانه شدم
چشم دارد بر زر و دیوار و سیم
نه به عدل آید، نه با رأی حکیم
گر بپرسندش ز قرآن و ز تورات
گوید: "من دانا، مرا نادان مبین، هات!"
هر دروغش کوه‌ها را شرم داد
راستی را در دهان مردم نهاد
خلق را از عقل و از شرم و حیا
کرد محروم، تا ببیند سِیم و طلا
بانگ

لیک در دل، نفع خود آغوش زد
هرکه را نان هست، از او بگرفت
هرکه را جان بود، زو بترسید و رفت
نام آزادی نهاد آن ظلم را
چون فسونگر برگزید آن ظلم را
لیک بدان ای اهل بینش، این فسون
روزگاری ناپدید آید ز خون
نور حق بر نارنجی شب تابد
زَهر ظلمش در خودش نابَد
تا بماند درس او بر هر زمان
که مَلک بی‌نور گردد شیطان
